Presentation Format:
Innovative/Promising Practice Program Report
Learning Objectives:
- Be able to understand and identify the clinical considerations for healthcare employees who are DV/SA survivors.
- Understand the privacy considerations for providing advocacy within the workplace.
- Learn about the different modalities of victims services offered to employees to enhance safety, increase options for accessible support, and empower survivors of D/SV.
Survivors of D/SV who are employed in the healthcare setting are confronted with the challenge of taking care of others while holding their own survivorship and trauma experience. At Partners Healthcare, a healthcare delivery system encompassing multiple teaching hospitals, the Employee Assistance Program Domestic Violence Coordinator offers advocacy and victim services to survivors who are employees. This unique role positions an advocate within the workplace to provide free, confidential, and voluntary services to the 65,000 employees in the Partners system.
