Learning Objectives:
  1. Describe the collaborative format whereby SCAN and IPV teams from 13 medical centers across Southern California come together on regional and local levels.
  2. Identify and explain collaborative protocols and data collection created within electronic medical records and a shared website that aids healthcare providers in diagnosis, management and education of abuse cases.
  3. Discuss collaborative educational materials created for victims of abuse of all ages for all 13 medical centers.
Description:
This innovative collaboration between the SCAN and IPV teams located in all 13 of Kaiser’s Southern California medical centers aims to connect health care providers and victims of child abuse, IPV and elder abuse. Through electronic medical records, our website, educational meetings and symposiums, we have integrated both teams in order to provide more comprehensive care to our members while identifying new ways to collect data on current and past exposure to abuse and violence.
