Description:
The UNC Hospitals Beacon Program is a model family violence intervention program in the system's hospital and clinics. It has been educating providers to ask about abuse since 1996. Program staff assist victims of child abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and elder abuse. We provide referrals to relevant agencies for these victims. Presenters will demonstrate the benefit of such a system to patients, families and employees in any healthcare system at any resource level.
