  3. Recognize different methods that can be used to improve gender-based violence and HIV prevention, screening, and treatment programs.

Description:
Our presentation will feature the state of science on the intersection between gender-based violence (GBV) and HIV as highlighted in the 2013 Presidential Memorandum on the Intersection of HIV/AIDS, Violence against Women and Girls, and Gender-Related Health Disparities. We will highlight US-based research to understand the scope of the intersection of GBV and HIV. We will conclude with an interactive discussion on recommendations to improve and take to scale model programs and promising practices that address these intersecting issues.
