Description:
This presentation will provide an overview of the concept of trauma-informed care and the implications for health and public health practice. It will provide specific examples of emerging initiatives within a large private health care system and a state public health department as well as feedback from patients on the importance of a trauma-informed approach. It will also provide opportunities to discuss key issues, challenges and strategies for incorporating a trauma-informed approach into health and public health policy and practice.
