Learning Objectives:
- Learn about the ways in which a program like "it's Your Call" is critical to maintaining a secure facility with a productive and focused staff, including the ways domestic violence can significantly impact employee productivity and resident safety.
- Gain a detailed understanding of the "It's Your Call" program components, and the ways in which the model may be modified for implementation in a variety of healthcare settings.
- Pinpoint and troubleshoot potential barriers to implementing employee domestic violence prevention programs, including identifying and convening institutional and community stakeholders and address liability issues.
In this session, Joy Solomon, Director and Managing Attorney of the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Center for Elder Abuse Prevention at The Hebrew Home at Riverdale, will discuss the creation and implementation of the "It's Your Call' program, the first employee domestic violence prevention and intervention program crafted specifically to meet the unique structure of the healthcare facility. The program will focus specifically on the wide-ranging effects of domestic violence in the workplace.
