Description:
Since November 2009, volunteers in Richmond have provided 24-hour coverage for 365 days per year. If someone requires medical treatment due to sexual assault or intimate partner violence, R-HART is there. On-call volunteers provide patient advocacy and emotional support during forensic or medical examinations. R-HART is a collaboration between Hanover Safe Place, Safe Harbor, the YWCA of Richmond, Bon Secours Richmond Health System, and VCU Medical Center/MCV. This team of volunteers responds to a total of 6 area emergency rooms.
