Saturday, March 31, 2012: 2:10 PM-3:30 PM
Yerba Buena Salon 13-15 (San Francisco Marriott Marquis)
Speaker:
Surabhi Kukke, MPH, Texas Council on Family Violence

Presentation Format:
Innovative/Promising Practice Program Report

Learning Objectives:
  1. Recognize TCFV'S DV protocol template for Home Visiting Programs
  2. Recall the collaborative process designed for the development of a protocol from the template
Description:
Home visitors are well positioned to screen for and respond to intimate partner violence as well as provide universal education about IPV and its impact on health. Aside from training, home visitors need protocols to guide how they can conduct basic assessments and provide useful information to their clients. This session will discuss a sample DV protocol developed in Texas that guides users through a collaborative process with local family violence programs to achieve a locally relevant policy.
