Innovative/Promising Practice Program Report

Learning Objectives:
  1. Recognize a peer education model for survivors of DV as well as identify implications for health and well-being when using such a model
  2. Acquire new tools in leading a participant-centered adaptation for use in their own projects
Description:
The Líderes training program was designed by Casa de Esperanza, a national DV organization based in St. Paul, Minnesota to develop leadership skills, educate, and support Latinas in providing workshops for their communities. This report will address the process of a participant-centered adaptation of the Líderes program for another community based DV organization located in Atlanta, Georgia, Caminar Latino. Outcome evaluation findings and implications for the health and well-being of the nine Latina survivors of DV will be discussed.
