  1. To identify the unique traumas experienced by women who have been commercially sexually exploited including the mental health manifestations.
  2. To describe information that will assist service providers in effectively engaging survivors and establishing a relationship with exploited women as they move forward in healing from their traumatic experiences.
Description:
The session will focus on the stories of women who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation as told by their front-line service providers. The themes of pimp culture, the aftermath including complex traumatic responses and shame, and the healing journey with the importance of unpacking the traumas and tailoring interventions will be presented.
