Description:
Building partnerships between victim advocates working in shelter, on crisis lines or in healthcare settings and birth doulas that understand the unique aspects of trauma-informed care for pregnant survivors of abuse can set in motion a new beginning for healthier relationships between mothers and their newborns. This presentation provides information on: o Understanding and responding to the effects of past or current trauma in pregnancy and childbirth and o Building health promoting partnerships between DV programs and birth doulas.
