  1. Understand if a newly developed measure of non-violent abuse is reliable and valid.
  2. Understand the nature of non-violent maltreatment during the perinatal period for women in India.

A measure of gender based household maltreatment (i.e., non-violent abuse) was created to assess the experiences of women during the perinatal period within major slums of Mumbai, India. The measure was tested for reliability and face validity- showing to be a promising scale for identify perpetration of gender based household maltreatment against women.
