Description:
This report focuses on community collaboration, prevention, public health, and policy implications for homeless parents of children ages 0-12 years in Washington, DC. About 80% of families have a history of domestic violence, trauma, and/or child maltreatment. This presentation focuses on partnerships designed to promote safety for homeless women and children. This workshop will provide descriptive data, outcome findings, policy implications, authentic voices of homeless mothers, and lessons learned. An evidence-based curriculum that incorporates principles of trauma-informed practice is discussed.
