Presentation Format:
Scientific Program Report

Learning Objectives:
  1. Be able to understand lifespan experiences of sexual violence faced by people living with HIV in the US and and how these experiences may vary by gender/sexual identity and/or orientation.
  2. Be able to understand the intersection of substance use, sex risk (unprotected sex and sex trade), and sexual violence experienced by people living with HIV.
Description:
Data collected from HIV-infected adults recruited from community-based settings across seven sites nation-wide reveals high rates of sexual violence in this population, and increased sexual and substance use related risks among those experiencing recent victimization from sexual violence. This report aims to address knowledge gaps around how sexual violence impacts these risks.
