Learning Objectives:
  1. Have knowledge of and the ability to replicate an innovative program to educate medical students on IPV/RC during the required obstetrics/gynecology clerkship.
  2. Be able to consider application of the module to the education of other medical provider disciplines, i.e. family practice, nursing and nurse practitioner, physician assistants, and internal medicine.
Description:
This presentation describes a small group interactive module utilizing role play, discussion and didactic learning methods to educate medical students on the prevalence and relationship between the experience of intimate partner violence/reproductive coercion (IPV/RC) and women’s health, screening and identification of IPV/RC in patients as well as supportive referrals for safety and resources.
