Learning Objectives:
- Identify the link between dating violence and clinical symptoms among Latino youth.
- Evaluate the impact of polyvictimization on the dating violence – clinical symptoms connection.
- Provide a comparative evaluation of using cross-sectional vs. longitudinal data for victimization research.
This presentation will examine the impact of dating violence among Latino youth on clinical level symptomatology. This will be evaluated in the context of polyvictimization (multiple forms of concurrent victimization) using longitudinal data from the Dating Violence among Latinos Study - II (DAVILA - II). The presentation will comparatively evaluate the cross-sectional data and longitudinal data will provide information about the long-term impact of dating violence.
