Presentation Format:
Innovative/Promising Practice Program Report

Learning Objectives:
  1. To identify the core components of a brief intervention to identify IPV and to link women under community supervision to IPV services.
  2. To develop a better understanding of the relative benefits and drawbacks of computerized interventions to address IPV.
Description:
This study aims to test the feasibility and effectiveness of a one-hour IPV screening, brief intervention and referral service delivered in a computerized self-paced format among women drug users under community supervision, compared to the same intervention delivered by a case manager. Both intervention arms include psycho-education on IPV and substance use, an IPV screening tool, safety planning, social support enhancement, goal setting and referral to services. The primary outcomes include identification of IPV and linkage to IPV services.
