Description:
IPV and SA patients leave the ED unsure of how to get their medical and psychological needs. In April 2010 the Women's C.A.R.E Clinic (Coordinated Approach to Recovery and Empowerment) was founded at Brigham and Women's Hospital. The clinical framework used is trauma informed and patient centered. This approach redefines the health care relationship and restores dignity and control to patients. The voices of patients were solicited. The model of care engages Patient Advisors to inform Practice, Policy and Research.
