- Be challenged to look at DVP's as a potential vehicle for improving male health and physical self-care.
- Be invited to consider the role that social support as a health determinant plays in male violence.
- Be encouraged by the studies findings with a population of men sometimes categorized as 'resistant' and not worthy of social or public health investment.
Session will report on qualitative research conducted with a Canadian Men's DVP. The study looked at the deliberate facilitation of positive social support among the men and examined any possible positive health and well-being outcomes.
