Description:
The Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians Clinic was one of the original pilot project sites for the IHS-ACF Domestic Violence Demonstration Project. The purpose of this initiative was to work with American Indian/ Alaska Native health care facilities to improve their response to domestic violence. This session will address our approach in overcoming obstacles and successfully establishing policies and procedures. I will share lessons learned that every facility can use as they strive to build successful responses to Domestic Violence.
