Description:
The culture of the military, PTSD, and the dynamics of IPV can oftentimes perpetuate a vicious cycle. More active engagement of the partners of Veterans receiving care at the VA, and addressing relationship health as a standard part of good mental health care, could benefit both Veterans and partners. This presentation highlights comments made by Veterans and partners who participated in the Relationships and PTSD Study (Gerlock PI) and the unanticipated effects of participation on their relationship.
