Learning Objectives:
  1. be able to identify the levels of evaluation necessary for a complete IPV program evaluation.
  2. be able to articulate ways the evaluation tools could be adapted to their hospital-based domestic violence program.
Description:
Many criticisms of inquiring about intimate partner violence (IPV) concern the efficacy of assistance offered once IPV is detected. Understanding more about the efficacy of an IPV intervention may enable existing IPV programs to assess and improve the care they offer to survivors. Our study is a first step to evaluating hospital-based domestic violence programs for their efficacy in responding to IPV. We developed and piloted evaluation tools to assess program level, clinic level, and provider level outcomes.
