Learning Objectives:
  1. be able to identify powerholders relevant to ending violence against women and determine their level of resistance
  2. assess and Design tools to effectively address resistant powerholders when addressing violence against women; know how to communicate effectively about risks of sexual violence with groups such as administrators, leaders, policy makers, etc.; Design skills to identify additional stakeholders relevant to the problems of violence against women;
  3. recognize the challenges of programming in higher education and strategize methods to avoid these challenges, and be able to assist in making their environment safer.
Description:
Based on the results of a year-long intervention on a United States college campus, this session will present strategies to deal with university administrations in particular, but resistant powerholders in general, and provide strategies to identify powerholders, address powerholders, and decrease their levels of resistance.
