Presentation Format:
Innovative/Promising Practice Program Report
Learning Objectives:
- Recognize the health effects of adolescent dating abuse
- Determine how to use a screening and safety planning protocol in a school setting
- Identify resources they can use to address healthy relationships as an integral part of a coordinated school health program
Safe and supportive relationships contribute to students' physical health and academic success. However, many young people are involved in unhealthy or abusive dating relationships. School nurses are taking an active role in identifying at risk students, increasing their safety, and educating youth and adults on the connection between good health and healthy relationships.
