Domestic violence victims are given a number of options for actions steps (e.g. order of protection, shelter, etc.) designed to increase their safety upon discharge from the hospital. In this study, we examined victim demographics and which actions steps were taken. Decision making processes in evaluating actions and stages of change are also explored. Suggestions and recommendations for future practice implementation for hospital advocacy programs will be provided.
