Description:
The need for in-depth quality education for health professionals about violence and abuse is apparent worldwide. At the University of British Columbia (UBC), a semester-long 3-credit upper-level undergraduate course entitled “Violence Across the Lifespan” was developed. Fully on-line since September 2009, 264 students on four continents have completed this course, helping to build a world-wide cohort of health care, public health and social work practitioners with expertise in the field. This presentation describes this course’s development, implementation and lessons learned.
