Learning Objectives:
  1. Explore the nature and extent of domestic abuse (experience and perpetration) in a sample of men who have sex with men (MSM) attending a UK sexual health clinic
  2. Recognize preferences amongst MSM for routine or clinical inquiry for domestic violence by sexual health practitioners
Description:
There is little research on men who have sex with men (MSM) as victims or perpetrators of domestic abuse and there are large gaps in the evidence for how the health service should respond. This is the first study to explore domestic abuse in MSM attending UK sexual health clinics and is part of PROVIDE (Programme of Research on Violence In Diverse Domestic Environments) a large programme of research on health sector responses to intimate partner violence in the UK.
