Learning Objectives:
  1. Recognize how a school-based violence-prevention curriculum can be implemented in Health, English, and Alternative Education schools
  2. Identify the risk factors associated with dating violence and related problem behaviors and how to address these common risk factors through education and skill-building

Description:
Educational strategies are feasible, effective, and necessary in reducing the incidence of child-, family- and partner-violence. This workshop takes a forward-looking approach to preventing relationship violence by examining ways to educate youth about healthy, non-violent relationships. This perspective focuses on the factors common to exposure to domestic violence, adolescent dating violence, and partner violence and presents ways to connect these common risk factors to form a practical approach to prevention.
