Learning Objectives:
  1. Demonstrate the effectiveness of CONNECT, a telehealth intervention, for reducing domestic violence re-victimization and traumatic stress
  2. Acquire the perspectives of a health psychologist and an internist, embedded in an OB/GYN clinic on how domestic violence impacts health care delivery.

Description:
This symposium will advance the field of health care’s response to domestic violence (DV) by integrating research and clinical practice to reduce health disparities. We will describe results from a study of CONNECT, a telehealth intervention, for reducing DV revictimization and post-traumatic stress among low-income, African American primary care patients. A health psychologist embedded in an OB/GYN clinic and an internist will discuss how DV impacts health care delivery for this high-risk population.
