Learning Objectives:
  1. Demonstrate an understanding of the use of Internet technology to improve access to personalized safety planning to diverse survivors of IPV
  2. Demonstrate an understanding of Internet recruitment/retention, safety strategies for computer/internet-based studies and the importance of detailed suicide prevention protocols for internet-based research

Description:
The presentation will provide details on the ongoing National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) funded study. The Internet Resource for Intervention and Safety (IRIS) study is a research collaboration to test the effectiveness of an interactive, internet-based safety decision aid on safety and health outcomes for survivors of intimate partner violence. The decision aid will be demonstrated; research and recruitment issues, international collaborations, and recruitment of diverse populations will be discussed; and data will be presented.
