Presentation Format:
Innovative/Promising Practice Program Report
Learning Objectives:
- Describe different types of strategies aimed at preventing DV before it starts
- Explain how participating state domestic violence coalitions have integrated primary prevention in other coalition work and their related outcomes
- Access and use online training and tools developed through DELTA PREP and other CDC-funded violence prevention initiatives for practitioners and organizations working on DV prevention
The report will focus on concepts and approaches to preventing DV before it starts (i.e., primary prevention) and will describe how state DV coalitions have integrated primary prevention in their missions and work. Through presentation, demonstration of interactive modules and dialogue with participants, presenters will discuss a framework for placing primary prevention within a continuum of DV services and prevention efforts and explain the rationale for integrating primary prevention with an organization’s existing service work.
