Description:
Using participatory action research, youth at Caminar Latino, a comprehensive, community-based program for Latinos affected by domestic violence, conducted a study exploring the effects of current immigration laws and climate on Latino families affected by domestic violence. We present qualitative narratives by Latino adults and youth on how immigration has threatened Latino family’s well-being and physical safety. Themes explored include how those affected by violence are less likely to contact authorities in cases of abuse, and in seeking treatment.
